Sa svojom venecijanskom tvrđavom, britanskim palačama i francuskom esplanadom po uzoru na Rue de Rivoli u Parizu, Krf vam možda uopće neće djelovati kao Grk. Najnaseljeniji i kozmopolitski od Jonskih otoka, prepun je stranaca i strane arhitekture. U legendi, Krf je bio otok na kojem je brodolomna Odiseja upoznala lijepu princezu Nausicau. Neki mještani tvrde da je to bio i čarobni otok koji je prizvao Shakespeare u Oluji. Krf grad, mali i ugodan grad, najveći je i najvažniji grad na otoku. Ovdje se nalazi zračna luka i gdje pristaje većina brodova za krstarenje i trajekte na velike udaljenosti. Stara tvrđava je definitivno jedna od znamenitosti Krfa. Izgrađena od strane Mlečana 1546. godine na mjestu bizantskog dvorca, tvrđava je odvojena od ostatka grada jarkom. Stari grad je labirint uskih ulica kojim dominira tvrđava iz 16. stoljeća. Iza svakog ugla nalazi se kapelica, stara vila ili tajni vrtni trg. Između Stare tvrđave i Starog grada nalazimo Esplanadu, sa svojim lukovima i kafićima, smatra se najljepšom esplanadom u Grčkoj. Palača Achillion idealno je smještena u slikovitom selu Gastouri, 10 km južno od centra grada. Bila je to ljetna rezidencija carice Sissi od 1890. do njezine smrti 1898. godine. Ova prekrasna zgrada i njezini slikoviti vrtovi gledaju na more i grad Krf. Na sjeverozapadnom vrhu otoka nalazi se živahno odmaralište Sidari. To su zapravo dva mala obalna sela povezana dugom pješčanom plažom. Poluotok Kanoni, s samostanom za žene iz 17. stoljeća, jedna je od najpoznatijih znamenitosti Krfa i nalazi se na brojnim razglednicama s otoka. S otočića Kanoni moguće je brodom otići do drugog otočića, Otoka miša ili Pontikonisija. Arhitektura Krfa je vrlo raznolika, pod utjecajem civilizacija koje su nekada okupirale otok. Masovni turizam pretvorio je dijelove otoka u trn u oku, ali iznenađujuću količinu otoka još uvijek čine maslinici, planine ili šume. Krf grad je šarmantan i elegantan grad, izgrađen između dvije tvrđave. Krf se smatra jednim od najljepših grčkih gradova i lako je razumjeti zašto kada šetate uskim ulicama i uličicama, šetate prostranim trgovima, posjećujete bizantske crkve i venecijanske spomenike.
