San Antonio is een Chileense stad, gemeente en de hoofdstad van de provincie San Antonio in de regio Valparaíso. Het is het centrum van het visgebied dat zich uitstrekt langs de Chileense kust van Rocas de Santo Domingo tot Cartagena. De haven is de grootste in termen van vrachtvervoer en de drukste aan de westkust van Zuid-Amerika. Aan de kust van de stad San Antonio bevindt zich een wandeling genaamd "el Paseo Bellamar" (de mooie zeewandeling), een winkelcentrum genaamd "Mall Arauco San Antonio", en een casino genaamd "el Casino del Pacífico" (het casino van de Stille Oceaan), waar je de koopvaardijschepen, en de activiteiten van vissers en havenarbeiders kunt zien. Vanaf hier en in de baai genaamd "la caleta Pintor Pacheco Altamarino[9]" (de baai van de schilder Pacheco Altamarino), worden boottochten aangeboden door de havenbaai en op de vismarkt van San Antonio worden vis en schaaldieren verkocht. Er is ook een nationaal monument genaamd "Grúa 82" waar het mogelijk is om zeehonden te observeren in de rotsformaties van het gebied. Een andere attractie is het Gemeentelijk Museum van Natuurwetenschappen en Archeologie van San Antonio, met collecties die voornamelijk gewijd zijn aan de inheemse bevolking die in het gebied van de centrale zee van Chili leefde, en de dieren in het gebied. Dit museum bevat enorme skeletten van zeedieren, waaronder de blauwe vinvis, een tuin met natuurlijke soorten, aquaria, en het reddings- en revalidatiecentrum voor wilde fauna. Een andere belangrijke attractie is het panoramische uitkijkpunt op de heuvel van Cristo del Maipo (Christus van Maipo), de heuvel van Centinela, en het uitkijkpunt van 21 mei. In de sector van Llolleo, vind je het paradeplein, ook bekend als "La Plaza del Folclor" (Het Plein van Folklore), en het heuveluitkijkpunt van "Cristo del Maipo" (Christus van Maipo). Het ambachtelijke stadje Lo Gallardo, is ook een belangrijke attractie; de rivier Maipo, met een indrukwekkende riviermonding die begint bij de vissershaven; het Leyda-reservoir met talrijke watervogels; en het kleine dorpje Cuncumén, een typisch Chileens plattelandsdorp aan de kant van de Maipo-rivier.
